Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license for a hospital telemetry unit assignment. The role requires BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Epic charting, with the ability to monitor cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and perform IV therapy.

Shifts are 3x12s from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with no on-call. Floating within the unit is expected, and Navy blue scrubs must be worn.

Qualifications

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skills: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, rapid response/code teams.
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, and post-MI care preferred.
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of submission.
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Hospital telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients.
• Diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain, dysrhythmias, HTN, sepsis, PE/DVT.
• Patient ratio 1:4-5 on a 16-room unit.
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication.
• Day shifts: 3x12-hour shifts 7:00 AM–7:30 PM.
• Works every other weekend; floating within scope as needed.
• No on-call requirements.
• Provide direct patient care on a busy cardiac telemetry unit, including monitoring and emergencies.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• RTO policies: max 7 days, finalized at submission; no RTO during orientation; blackout dates during Spring Break.

• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Works every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Provide direct patient care on a busy cardiac telemetry unit, including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required per facility policy: work 1-2 major holidays as scheduled, or 2 of 3 if three fall within the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous Piedmont perm, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or deemed ineligible to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
• No special scheduling requests permitted; shift and schedule as posted are firm
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
