American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical ICU RN for a night shift, requiring Trauma Level II experience and an active OH or compact RN license. This role sits in a teaching hospital environment with a 36-hour weekly schedule and floating within the ICU.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years ICU experience, post-surgical, trauma, burn, or transplant ICU exposure, and ACEN/CCNE accredited education. Certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

Qualifications

• Trauma Level II experience required.
• Surgical, Trauma, Burn, or Transplant ICU experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients including post-surgical, trauma, burn, and transplant cases.
• Work within a multidisciplinary ICU team in an academic teaching hospital setting.
• Night shift with three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week).
• Floating within the unit and call required.
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Surgical ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring Trauma Level II experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Surgical, Trauma, Burn, or Transplant ICU experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing patients with acute/chronic renal failure and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Skilled in continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrating vasoactive drips
• Experience with post neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)
