Job summary

Healthforce is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown travel assignment in Helena, MT. The 13-week contract starts 10/11/2026 with a weekly pay range of $2,076–$2,201 and guaranteed 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift (12x3).

The role involves floatability to stepdown/ICU and medical-surgical units, Epic EMR documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Stepdown experience; prior travel experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Epic EMR experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for stepdown-level patients, including monitoring, administering medications, IV therapy, and ongoing assessments; implement and adjust care plans per physician orders.
• Float to stepdown/ICU and medical-surgical units as needed, maintaining safe, effective care within unit protocols.
• Maintain appropriate patient-to-nurse ratios and prioritize patient safety, using critical thinking to elevate concerns.
• Document thoroughly in the Epic EMR, including assessments, plan of care, and timely communication with the care team.
• Respond to codes as trained (BLS/ACLS) and support interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and discharge planning.
