Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN for a night shift in a geriatric psychiatric unit. Licensed TN or compact RN with BLS and HWC cert is required, along with dementia care experience.

The 13-week assignment includes a 24-bed unit with 1:7 nurse ratio and night hours 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. Travelers must reside 60+ miles away and not be employed full-time elsewhere during assignment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TN or compact.
• BLS certification required.
• HWC certification required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Experience caring for dementia patients.
• Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient geriatric behavioral health unit within an acute care hospital.
• 24-bed unit with a 1:7 patient-to-nurse ratio.
• Geriatric patient population (age 50+) with dementia and behavioral disturbances.
• Uses Medhost EMR.
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend, totaling 24 weekend hours.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating requirements.
• Provide direct nursing care to geriatric patients with dementia and behavioral disturbances.
• Work in a calm, team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills.
• Residence ≥60 miles from facility to qualify for travel rate.
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility in last 12 months.
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment.
• Solid color scrubs required.
• Facial piercings not permitted.
• 13-week assignment length.

• Required experience caring for dementia patients
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start with results required before starting
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
