Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Psychiatric for a night shift Behavioral Health Unit role requiring 3+ years of acute behavioral health experience and an AR or compact RN license.

Details

• Behavioral Health Unit within a hospital setting, covering Adult and Geriatric units
• Unit has 12 geriatric beds and 24 adult beds with a 1:12 patient ratio
• Uses EKG, Omnicell, vitals, and lab equipment
• Cerner EMR used
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or as-needed weekend coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required between adult and geriatric behavioral health units

Requirements

• Active RN license (AR or compact) required
• BLS and HWC certifications required
• 2+ years of RN experience required, with 3+ years of acute behavioral health experience preferred
• Expertise in crisis stabilization, verbal de-escalation, and emergency physical intervention required
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including MDD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, SUD, Dementia, and Depression
• High energy, team-oriented, customer service focused, with strong communication skills preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required; hooded clothing and Crocs not permitted
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full time
