American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU assignment at a Level I pediatric trauma center in the Portland area.

The role requires 2+ years CVICU and post-op heart experience, with Epic charting and a valid OR RN license for submission. American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU and post-op heart experience at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR license required for submission)
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience with post-op heart (cardiac surgery) experience required
• First-time travelers accepted only with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong skill set in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, ECMO, and management of dysrhythmias preferred
• Experience with ICP monitoring, EVD, and neurosurgical post-op care preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted

Responsibilities

• Work in the CVPICU (Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU) within an 80-bed pediatric hospital
• Care for critically ill pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood with cardiac, surgical, respiratory, and congenital heart conditions
• Perform bedside procedures including central line and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, and ECMO cannulation/decannulation
• Use specialized equipment including Hamilton G5 Ventilators, DirectLink ICP Monitors, Arctic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, and Baxter Prismaflex Machines
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Weekend shifts required
• Float within the hospital to NICU and Pediatric Units as needed
• No call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with cardiac, surgical, respiratory, and neurological conditions in a family-centered care environment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and child life specialists
• Scrubs with no prints required; OR scrubs provided
• Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
• All time off requests must be submitted upfront and limited to no more than 2 weeks
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Former OHSU employees or travelers must have a 6+ month gap before returning as a traveler
• Pending RN license applications accepted if submitted to the licensing board prior to consideration
