Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Glendale, Arizona. This position offers a 13-week contract with 36 hours per week, night shifts, and travel employment in the PCU setting.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and relevant certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIH). As a PCU nurse, you will monitor patients using clinical equipment, titrate medications, and respond to changes ensuring patient safety in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required; additional certifications may be required.
• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• PCU/step-down experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
