Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week assignment in Birmingham, AL. Start ASAP, 36 hours/week, 12-hour nights. Travel RN with Stepdown experience preferred.

The role requires an RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, plus strong telemetry and cardiac care skills. Benefits and ongoing support are provided by Fusion Medical Staffing.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
• Preferred: PCCN Certification, NIHSS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety of telemetry patients.
• Observes patient and notifies physician of status and response to interventions.
• Responds to life-threatening cardiac emergencies per protocols.
• Documents nursing history and assessments for telemetry patients.
• Initiates patient education on cardiac health and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for comprehensive telemetry care.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to safety protocols.
