Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Ambulatory Surgery Center PACU position. ACLS, PALS, and BLS are required, with 1 year of nursing experience (2 years preferred). The role involves phase 1 PACU recovery across ages 6 months to 95 years, with 10-hour day shifts, four days per week.

Candidate must have an Oklahoma RN license (or compact/eNLC) and Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred). Generous benefits and travel-related allowances are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State or Compact/eNLC).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (2 years preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting.
• Provide phase 1 PACU recovery care for surgical eye patients (cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, plastics).
• Care for patients ranging in age from 6 months to 95 years.
• Day shift schedule with 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly.
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of surgical patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products. Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout treatment and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed.
• Must maintain a fast pace while working collaboratively as part of a team.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.
• Returning travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying.
