Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in Indiana requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements include an active RN license (Indiana or Compact), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and a Nursing Diploma or ASN. PACU duties involve 12-hour shifts (7a–7:30p), 36 hours weekly, with on-call and weekend coverage as scheduled. Epic EMR is used for patient care and documentation.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) in hand.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the PACU unit of a hospital setting.
• 12-hour day shifts from 7a-730p.
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts.
• On‑call required 5 days within an eight‑week schedule period.
• Scheduled weekend coverage approximately every 10 weeks, Friday 5p through Monday 6a.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide patient and family education specific to care and discharge needs.
• Mentor and precept staff while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non‑licensed personnel as needed.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives within a Practice Governance model.
