Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN for a Level I Trauma, Magnet teaching hospital in SC. Requires 2+ years PACU/CC experience and an active SC or compact RN license, with BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications.

The role features night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (7:30p-8a), with a 2:1 patient ratio and no on-call requirements. Travel and housing perks are included.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required.
• Minimum 2 years of PACU/Critical Care experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• PACU unit within a hospital setting.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:30p-8a), Friday-Sunday.
• Patient ratio of 2:1.
• Holiday coverage may be required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Possible floating to other PACUs within the facility.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Recover and monitor post-anesthesia patients in a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility, with non-local candidates prioritized.
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate.
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with approvals based on department needs.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September).
• Pre-start modules required, averaging 4 hours to complete.
