Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for an inpatient assignment in Albuquerque, NM. Active NM or Compact RN license required, along with BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Minimum 2 years PACU, Level I trauma and telemetry experience are essential, with proficiency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition. The role features 4x12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM–6:30 PM), 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in PACU, and Cerner charting.

Qualifications

• Ventilated patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Inpatient PACU unit within a Level I trauma and teaching hospital
• 4x12-hour day shifts scheduled 6:00 AM-6:30 PM
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in PACU with possible float to Holding area (1:3-5)
• Performs pre/post cath lab and pre/post IR procedures
• Pre-op patient care responsibilities
• Weekend rotation of one per month
• On-call 1-2 overnight shifts monthly on a 4-week schedule
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Black scrub color required
• RTO requests >7 days require client approval
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• First-time travelers considered upon client screening

• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Level I trauma and telemetry experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Care of ventilated patient experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Inpatient PACU unit within a Level I trauma, teaching, children's hospital
• 4x12-hour day shifts scheduled 6:00 AM-6:30 PM
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in PACU with possible float to Holding area at 1:3-5 ratio equivalent to inpatient PCU care
• Performs pre/post cath lab and pre/post IR procedures
• Pre-op patient care required
• Weekend rotation of one per month
• On-call requirement of 1-2 overnight shifts monthly on a 4-week schedule
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Black scrub color required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holiday bundles (Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
• COVID vaccine optional but proof or declination must be submitted
• Facility has 554 staffed beds with no parking fee
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• First-time travelers considered upon client screening
