Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a CVOR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Long Beach, CA. Requires at least 2 years of CVOR experience and an active CA RN license.

Responsibilities include 12-hour shifts, 30-minute call response, and staffing with two RNs per case in a single CVOR suite. Travel housing allowances and per diems are offered. BLS/ACLS required; BSN not mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in acute care CVOR during 13-week assignment.
• Support two circulating RNs per case in a single OR suite.
• Handle cases such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy procedures.
• Operate with a 12-hour day shift and every other weekend schedule.
• Meet 30-minute call response times; rotation among CVOR RNs.
• First to float, with limited cross-OR coverage; holiday coverage required.
• Provide circulating RN support for cardiovascular surgical cases; Charge RN to manage daily assignments.
• Unit orientation lasts about one week or until workflow is comfortable.
• Note: candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility in the past year; PRN with outside staffing firms allowed.

• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Scrubbing not required but preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Single OR suite handling approximately 2 cases per week
• Common case types include straightforward CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy procedures
• Staffing ratio of 2 circulating RNs per case
• Uses Cerner and Surginet charting systems
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Call requirement with a 30-minute response time, rotated among CVOR RNs
• First to float, with floating limited to other OR specialties
• Holiday coverage required
• Scrubs provided
• Provide circulating RN support for cardiovascular surgical cases
• Charge RN manages daily case assignments
• Unit-specific orientation lasts approximately one week or until comfortable with workflow
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health, within the past year
• PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
