Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an OR Circulator RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Colorado. Requires 2+ years intraoperative circulating experience and an active CO or compact RN license. BLS, ACLS and PALS are mandated.

Must be able to work 12-hour days (06:30–19:00), primarily Tuesday through Thursday, with periodic call and holiday coverage. The role supports a Level 3 Trauma Center with 8 OR suites, performing a variety of procedures across Ortho, General, Urology, and ENT.

Qualifications

• Active CO state or compact (NLC) RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years intraoperative circulating RN experience.
• BSN not required for this position.
• Must be a fast learner, hardworking, and willing to take OR call.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 3 Trauma Center with an 8-suite Operating Room department.
• Average of 10 to 15 surgical cases per day on weekdays.
• Common procedures include Ortho, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT.
• Uses EPIC OpTime as the electronic health record system.
• 12-hour day shifts 06:30-19:00, primarily Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
• Call coverage required: typically one weeknight per week and one weekend every 4th or 5th week.
• Some holiday call coverage during winter holidays.
• Call response time of 30 minutes from call to hospital arrival.
• No floating; dedicated to the OR for this assignment.

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of intraoperative circulating RN experience preferred, including experience with common OR case types
• BSN not required for this position
• Must be a fast learner, hardworking, and willing to take OR call
• Scrubbing skills not required but considered a plus
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 3 Trauma Center with an 8-suite Operating Room department
• Average of 10 to 15 surgical cases per day on weekdays
• Common procedures include Ortho (total joints, ORIFs, arthroscopies, spine), General Surgery (lap chole, lap appy, bowel resections, DaVinci Xi robotic cases), Urology (cystos, TURP/TURBT, ESWL), and ENT (FESS, septoplasty, T&A, laryngoscopy)
• Uses EPIC OpTime as the electronic health record system
• 12-hour day shifts, 06:30-19:00, primarily Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• Call coverage required: typically one weeknight per week and one weekend approximately every 4th or 5th week
• Some holiday call coverage needed during winter holidays
• Call response time of 30 minutes from call to hospital arrival
• No floating required; dedicated to the OR for this assignment
• Dedicated Charge RN and 24/7 house supervisors are in place, so no charge duties expected
• Staffing coordinated by leadership; no self-scheduling
• Responsibilities include circulating duties across a variety of surgical specialties including Ortho, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT
• CSTs are predominantly used for scrub roles, so scrubbing is not a primary expectation for RNs
• Unit-specific orientation conducted on-site with clinical coordinators and/or OR leadership
• One week of orientation requires in-state presence, even if initial modules are remote
• Blue scrubs are hospital-provided; surgical attire required while on duty
• Standard casual attire is acceptable for commuting to and from the hospital
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• Candidates who have been directly employed by any facility within the associated health system in the past year are not eligible
