Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Operating Room/Vascular position in Kentucky. Requires vascular surgical experience and KY or compact RN license. BLS/ACLS certified; ADN/ASN required with BSN preferred.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 06:30–15:00, with call every other day and every other weekend. Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates may receive a lower rate. 26-week contract with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Prior vascular surgical experience required.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care teams.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites (hybrid and cardiothoracic) and PACU.
• Vascular pod handles endovascular and open vascular cases.
• Manage EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, atherectomy, thrombectomy, and related procedures.
• Utilize devices from Medtronic, Gore, Cook, Endologix, AngioJet, etc.
• Work Monday–Friday, 0630–1500; call every other day and every other weekend.
• Provide direct patient care in the OR and support admission, transfer, discharge.
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with case management and other disciplines on care coordination.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
• Residence within 75 miles of facility; local candidates accepted at lower rate.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites (hybrid and cardiothoracic), PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, and scheduling support areas
• Vascular pod handles endovascular and open vascular cases
• Relevant case types include EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR, atherectomy, thrombectomy, aortograms, dialysis access (AV grafts/fistulas), carotid and femoral endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, and vein procedures (ablation, VenaSeal, Varithena)
• Uses devices from Medtronic, Gore, Cook, Endologix, Silk Road/Boston Scientific, Penumbra, Inari, and AngioJet
• Monday-Friday schedule, 0630-1500
• Call required every other day and every other weekend
• Must be willing to assist in other surgical specialties as needed
• 26-week contract
• Provide direct patient care in the OR including assessment, treatment planning, and procedural support
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities as part of surgical care team
• Deliver patient and family education related to surgical procedures
• Collaborate with case management and other disciplines to support discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
