Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general OR and trauma experience for a 13-week day shift assignment in Missouri. Must hold Missouri or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of relevant OR experience, with no gaps over 90 days in the past year, and be prepared for floating between departments within the travel network.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Missouri or compact) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent in-specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year.
• General OR and trauma experience required.
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license must be in hand at time of consideration due to floating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate in the Operating Room unit in a hospital setting.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:2.
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday (5x8.5 hours, 6:45-15:15).
• Rotating weekend shifts as required by department.
• On-call 1-2 weekdays per week and 2 weekends per 13-week assignment.
• Epic EMR experience is required.
• Perform surgical procedures across specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, trauma, and robotics.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent in-specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
• General OR and trauma experience required
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license must be in hand at time of consideration due to floating requirements
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year

Responsibilities

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday (5x8.5 hours, 6:45-15:15)
• Rotating weekend shifts required as determined by department
• On-call requirement of 1-2 weekdays per week and 2 weekends per 13-week assignment
• Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as neededEpic EMR experience required
• Perform surgical procedures across specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, trauma, and robotics
• Experience with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources is utilized
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, which must be finalized at time of consideration
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Employees with 18 months of tenure require a 3-month break in service before returning as a traveler
• Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position
