Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit with telemetry and step-down experience. NH or compact licensure is required, with BLS and ACLS in place. NIHSS/TNCC are preferred.

This 13-week travel assignment offers day and night shifts, 4:1 patient ratios, and floating to ICU/ED as needed. The role emphasizes patient monitoring, use of bedside monitors and advanced therapies, chest tube management, and EEGs.

Qualifications

• Active RN license NH or compact required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred.
• 2 years of RN experience required.
• Telemetry and step-down experience required.
• Neuro and trauma experience preferred.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit in a 23-bed hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 4:1.
• Day and night shift coverage with 6-7 RNs and 2 aides per shift.
• Uses bedside monitors, end tidal CO2 monitoring, high flow therapy, chronic vents, and subdural drains.
• Charting is done in Meditech.
• Typical procedures include chest tubes and EEGs.
• Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibilities.
• Floating required to all inpatient units including ICU and ED.
• 13-week assignment with a 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM shift schedule.
• Provide nursing care to neuro trauma and progressive care patients, including monitoring, drains, and chest tube management.
