Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel assignment at a Level I Trauma Center. The 10-week winter contract requires Neuro ICU experience and a CT/compact RN license (license pending accepted).

Responsibilities include providing critical care for neurologically complex ICU patients, with 1:2 ratios, 3x12-hour day shifts, and no on-call requirements. Travel experience and Epic charting proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted).
• NIHSS, ACLS and BLS certifications current.
• Minimum 2 years Neuro ICU experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU nursing care for neurologically complex patients (stroke, TBI, post-craniotomy).
• Maintain patient safety with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios on day and night shifts.
• Work 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Float within scope as facility needs dictate.
• No on-call requirements; avoid holiday RTO; limit total RTO during contract.
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring Neuro ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications required: NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Neuro ICU required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Preferred experience with Level I and Level II Trauma Centers
• Skills needed include EVD, ICP monitoring, CVVHD/CRRT, ventilator management, arterial line management, and neurological assessment for stroke, TBI, and post-craniotomy patients
• One professional reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center academic medical facility
• Average patient ratios of 1:2 for both day and night shifts
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• This is a 10-week contract specifically for winter coverage
• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex ICU patients including stroke, TBI, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Local radius restrictions are waived for this 10-week assignment
• No holiday RTO permitted and no more than 5 days of RTO allowed during the contract
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a travel clinician
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
