Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Wisconsin. Shifts are 3x12, with day/night options, and every-other weekend; floating may be required.

Epic EMR is used; prior travel with craniotomy/EVD is preferred. Candidates must have an active WI license, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of acute care; telemetry exam with high pass rate required before starting.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only).
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty.
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months.
• Prior travel experience required, specifically with craniotomy and EVD management.
• Telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Neuro ICU unit caring for ICU and IMC patient populations.
• 13-week assignment with day and night shift options (3x12 hours, 0700-1930 or 1900-0730).
• Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage.
• 4x12 shifts and Friday-Sunday block schedules accepted.
• Floating required as needed.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Position at Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital.
• Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU and surgical ICU patients, including complex neurosurgical cases.
• Responsibilities include management of EVDs, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocols.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted.
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score, with up to two attempts allowed before additional review.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN with required ICU experience, EPIC proficiency, and craniotomy/EVD management skills for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Prior travel experience required, specifically with craniotomy and EVD management
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
• Skilled in EVD, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, CVA/stroke care, and traumatic brain injury management
• Experience with ventilator management, arterial line and central line care, and titration of vasoactive/sedation drips
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
