Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment in Virginia. Active VA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience are required, with neuro ICU experience preferred. This position is in a teaching hospital environment.

You’ll work 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts (19:00–07:00) with periodic weekend coverage and call obligations. Travelers receive housing assistance, licensure and travel reimbursements, and access to online CEUs.

Qualifications

• Active RN license, compact or VA, in hand.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required (AHA accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, neuro experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• BSN not required

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to neuro and medical ICU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12, 19:00-07:00
• Typically 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
• Call requirements based on unit needs
• Floating expected in rotation with staff, with travelers prioritized to float first
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting system used, experience preferred but not required
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• Holiday coverage expected in rotation with staff
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with none preferred during the first weeks
• Former Centra employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as travelers
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position

• Skills needed include IV therapy, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, and IV insulin protocols

• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12, 19:00-07:00
• Typically 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
