American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position at a teaching hospital requiring 2 years of NICU experience, travel experience, and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting within a teaching hospital
Cares for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks gestation to >34 weeks
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
Epic EMR experience required, no exceptions
Candidates will float within scope as needed

Requirements

Active RN license, VA or compact state, required in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
BLS and NRP certifications required
BSN preferred
Epic charting experience required
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products
Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and oscillators preferred
Experience with neonatal conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required for consideration

Additional Information

Responsibilities include neonatal dosage calculations, thermoregulation, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
Provides care for conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, and seizure disorders
Facility maintains a natural nail policy
Drug and tobacco-free, smoke-free workplace
Candidates will complete unit-specific orientation modules during onboarding week
Facility reviews all background check results prior to start
Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
Both travelers and former permanent staff must have a gap of at least one year before returning to the facility
No time off granted during the first week of assignment; all other RTO must be submitted and approved by the unit manager
Candidates must not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager
