Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a night shift NICU position, requiring L&D experience and willingness to float across hospital units. The role includes 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with cross-training, orientation, and no on-call requirements.

You’ll provide direct neonate care across gestational ages and support high-risk deliveries while utilizing isolation precautions and PPE. Travel experience and flexible assignment across units are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI or MAB, NRP, STABLE
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience
• Strong delivery room experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other units and to L&D/home care
• Experience with IV therapy and blood products
• Neonatal dosing calculations and antibiotics/antivirals
• APGAR scoring and patient/family teaching
• Comfort with high-risk deliveries and Mother/Baby care
• Respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator management

Responsibilities

• Work in the NICU at a public hospital
• Night shift 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Assist cross-training and coverage for Delivery/Mother-Baby
• Float to other units as needed
• Orientation first week runs 7 AM–7 PM
• Care for incarcerated patients as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Direct care to neonates across gestational ages 24–34 weeks and beyond

• Experience with L&D required, along with willingness to float to other units
• Skills in IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and administration of antibiotics/antivirals
• Experience with APGAR scoring and patient/family teaching
• Comfort attending high-risk deliveries and providing Mother/Baby care
• Experience with respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator management

Responsibilities

• Work in the NICU at a public hospital transitioning to an LDRP care model
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Travelers will assist with cross-training efforts and provide coverage for Delivery/Mother-Baby during the transition
• Float to other units as needed, including serving as a sitter in any unit of the hospital
• First week of orientation scheduled 7a-7p (3x12s)
• May involve caring for incarcerated patients as part of the hospital's patient population
• No on-call requirements
• Provide direct care to neonates across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks and 29-34 weeks
• Support high‑risk deliveries and assist with breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE for infectious disease control
• First‑time travelers and local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Facility enforces a strict no‑call policy
