Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MICU RN for a 13-week night assignment at a Level III Trauma Center in Massachusetts. Requires 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience and telemetry competency, with EPIC charting proficiency.

Active Massachusetts RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Night shifts run 7pm–7am with every other weekend included, and travel/lousing support is provided.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required; no conditional or pending licenses accepted.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 2+ years continuous adult ICU experience; MICU preferred; telemetry competency required.
• Telemetry competency including ability to read tele strips.
• EPIC charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult ICU patients in a MICU within a Level III Trauma Center.
• Maintain RN to patient ratios of 1:2 (1:1 for high-acuity patients).
• Float to Med/Surgical units with 1:4 or 1:5 ratios; night shift 7p–7a; every other week end work.
• Use EPIC EMR for charting and documentation.
• Provide critical care nursing with physician oversight; free on-site parking.
• Support for flu season vaccination without exemptions.
• Free on-site parking; flu vaccine required during flu season with no exemptions.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience and telemetry competency at a Level III Trauma Center.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferable in a MICU
• Telemetry competency required, including the ability to read tele strips
• EPIC charting experience

Responsibilities

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) within a Level III Trauma Center community hospital
• Cares for a wide range of adult patients including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2, or 1:1 for high acuity patients
• Floating required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units with ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Night shift schedule (7p-7a), does not rotate; EOW required
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse adult ICU population with close physician oversight
• Free on-site parking available
• Flu vaccine required during flu season with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Boston are accepted at a reduced rate
• Two references required for consideration
