Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU assignment in Dayton, Ohio. EPIC EMR experience and an active OH or compact RN license are required. 1.5+ years in a large hospital setting, BLS and ACLS certifications, and ability to read EKG telemetry are essential.

Shifts are 4x12s days, 48 hours per week, with 13-week contract options and occasional on-call requirements. Travel-friendly benefits and support are provided by American Traveler.

• Float as needed between campuses and cover every other weekend/holiday.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring EPIC experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 40-bed, fast-paced, high acuity Medical ICU
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:2-3
• Bedside procedures include Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Trach, and G-Tube placement
• Frequently recovers patients immediately post-op
• Uses specialized equipment including ICP monitoring, arterial lines, Flotrac monitoring, BIS, and train of four
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• First to float at facility's discretion, including into high-risk respiratory/COVID units or other specialty clusters
• May float between main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville, less than 10 miles from main campus), and north campus (Englewood, less than 15 miles from main campus)

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG telemetry strips
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
• Trach care competency required
• Minimum 1.5 years experience in a large hospital setting required
• Level 1 trauma center experience preferred, Level 2 experience accepted
• EPIC EMR experience requiredTravel experience preferred
• Must fit-tested for N95 prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered or needed

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application, as no RTO will be added after an offer is made
• RTO approval is at the manager's discretion
