American Traveler is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med Surg/Telemetry night shift with Charge RN responsibilities in a critical access hospital setting. A valid VT or Compact license, BLS/ACLS, and travel history are required.

The role involves 12-hour night shifts, on-call duties, and potential unit float within scope of practice. Family/community oriented facility with comprehensive benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Active VT RN license or Compact license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg and Rehab experience.
• Charge RN experience required.
• Minimum 3 months of travel assignment experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Must have own vehicle due to lack of public transportation.
• Skills checklist for Medical Surgical nursing current within 1 year.
• At least 1 supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on Acute Med Surg units and in rehab units.
• Maintain nurse to patient ratio of 1:4/5 with census ~22.
• Work 12-hour night shifts 7:30 PM–7:00 AM.
• Occasional weekends and holidays, with on-call requirements.
• May float between units within scope of practice.
• Coordinate total nursing care and patient/family education.
• Provide nursing leadership in collaboration with the care team.
• May serve as backup Charge Nurse.
