Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in Maine. The role requires charge RN experience and at least 1 year of specialty RN experience. The position is travel nursing with 12-hour night shifts (7P–7A) and a 36-hour week, utilizing Cerner EMR and Pyxis systems.

Eligible candidates may work as Charge RN on most shifts, with overtime possibilities and onsite parking. Active RN license (Compact or ME), current BLS/ACLS, and travel nursing background are

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact or ME) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Med/Surg or Tele specialty
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Background in critical access hospitals preferred

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shift schedule (7P-7A), 36 hours per week
• Uses Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Will function as Charge RN for most shifts
• Some eligibility for overtime shifts if desired, though not guaranteed weekly
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Free parking available onsite
• Orientation period consists of 1-2 shifts
• RTO requests subject to manager approval
• First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis following interview
• Candidates who have previously worked in a permanent capacity at any Northern Light Health hospital are not eligible
• Flu vaccination required for clearance to start, with medical exemptions only considered subject to facility approval
