Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg/Tele Float role in South Carolina. Requires 2+ years MS/Tele experience and an active SC license or compact license. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with strong IV skills for primary care during float rotations.

The position covers MS/Tele units hospital-wide with on-unit telemetry, night shifts 7p-7a, and weekend coverage. Cerner EMR is used; travel and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand.
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Primary IV skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Float pool and PCU/Step Down experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Float pool position covering MS/Tele units within the hospital.
• Patient population includes adults with medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses.
• On-unit telemetry monitoring required.
• Patient to nurse ratio of 1:6, flexing up to 1:7 as needed.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a.
• Every other weekend required.
• Self scheduling and blocked scheduling available.
• Cerner EMR used.
• No radius restriction for this position.
• Float to other MS/Tele units within the hospital as needed.
• Respiratory therapy covers specialty IV lines while RN manages primary IV care.
• Black scrubs required.
• No RTO preferred for any holidays, though one holiday may be considered.
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 1 year before reapplying.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this float position.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
