Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift in Georgia. Must hold GA or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and be able to interpret telemetry rhythm. Telemetry and drip titration experience required.

Position features night hours (7p-7a), every other weekend, EPIC EMR, and cross-campus floating with orientation across three campuses. Housing allowance and travel reimbursements are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Active GA state or compact (NLC) RN license required, active (not pending) at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required.
• Telemetry and rhythm interpretation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Med Surg/Telemetry unit across two units (24 and 32 beds).
• Patient population includes respiratory, COPD, chest pain, CIWA, and pending stress test cases.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 during days and 1:6 at nights.
• EPIC EMR used for charting.
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, every other weekend.
• RNs required to titrate drips including cardizem and amiodarone.
• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips using GE monitors, with virtual monitoring support.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring telemetry rhythm interpretation skills and a GA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active GA state or compact (NLC) RN license required, active (not pending) at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Telemetry and rhythm interpretation skills required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Responsibilities

• Acute care Med Surg/Telemetry unit across two units (24 and 32 beds)
• Patient population includes respiratory, COPD, chest pain, CIWA, and pending stress test cases, among all types
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 during days and 1:6 at nights
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, every other weekend
• RNs required to titrate drips including cardizem and amiodarone
• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips using GE monitors, with virtual monitoring support
• Charge nurse present on every shift and may take a partial patient assignment
• Nurse aides/patient care techs available at a 1:17 ratio for support tasks
• Floating required across all 3 campuses
• 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation, one at each campus
• Responsible for telemetry monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and drip titration for medical/surgical patients
• Respiratory therapy handles ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment; RNs contact RT for troubleshooting
• Weekend requirement of 5-6 shifts per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required per A, B, C team rotation
• No on-call or standby requirement typically expected of travelers
• Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
