Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The nurse will interpret telemetry strips and provide specialized care on a nights schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), with 4x12-hour shifts and every other weekend.

Epic EMR experience is preferred for efficient workflows. The role requires active Wisconsin RN license, BLS and NIHSS certifications, and at least 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience, including telemetry interpretation and patient monitoring.

Qualifications

• Active WI or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required.
• Must be able to interpret and sign off on telemetry strips.
• Travel experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care.
• Experienced in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Experienced in isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration.
• Two supervisor references required, with rules varying based on submission timing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support.
• Be able to interpret telemetry strips and respond to telemetry alarms.
• May float to IMCU (stepdown) within skill set.
• Adhere to infection control and PPE guidelines.
