Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN to join our team for night shift coverage in Ohio. The ideal candidate holds an active Ohio license or compact license and has at least 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience, with BLS/ACLS certifications.

NIHSS may be required before start. Responsibilities include direct patient care on the Med/Surg Tele unit, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management during 7:00 PM–7:30 AM shifts.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license in hand at time of consideration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS preferred before start
• 1 year of permanent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• One professional reference from a manager/supervisor within past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital.
• Night shift 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM.
• Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with passing score required.
• Vaccinations (COVID-19 and flu) required, with exemptions only on medical or religious grounds.
• Expected to work every other holiday.

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, with willingness to obtain NIHSS prior to start
• 1 year of combined permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele required
• One professional reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty, completed within the past 12 months
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments completed during orientation, with a passing score required
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Expected to work every other holiday
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous permanent employees cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their last end date
• First-time travelers are not specifically addressed, but prior specialty experience is required
