Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift 13-week assignment requiring at least 2 years of RN experience, including hospital or acute care settings.

Qualified candidates must hold an active GA or Compact RN license and BLS certification; ACLS preferred. Epic charting experience and strong cardiac monitoring skills are essential. The assignment runs 19:00–07:00 with 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios, and includes housing options and travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in a hospital or acute care setting.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg/Tele unit with floating to 4 Med/Surg Tele units.
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:00).
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6.
• Works every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg/Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Tobacco-free facility.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required


• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred


• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year in a hospital or acute care setting


• Familiarity with Epic preferred


• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams


• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management


• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management


• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg/Tele unit with floating required to 4 Med/Surg Tele units


• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:00)


• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6


• Works every other weekend and every other holiday


• Blocked scheduling will be considered


• Uses Epic charting system


• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg/Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response


• Only 1 holiday may be taken off during the assignment


• Tobacco-free facility


• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate


• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
