Active TX or Compact RN license, BLS, and Epic charting familiarity are needed. Strong skills in IV therapy, line management, respiratory care, and trauma support are preferred. The role involves a 36-bed Med/Surg Ortho unit with 1:6 patient ratio, night shifts 7 PM–7 AM, and half weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Active TX or Compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• Current BLS required; ACLS/NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Ortho unit with a 36-bed capacity.
• Patient ratio 1:6.
• Night shift 3×12 hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
• Weekend coverage required for half of scheduled shifts.
• Floating required.
• Care for orthopedic and med/surg patients including trauma and post-surgical cases.
• Utilize Epic charting system.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Ortho RN for night shifts requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, and peripheral nerve block catheters
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code teams
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Ortho unit with a 36-bed capacity

• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a travel employee
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers may not be considered given the travel experience requirement
