American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN for an Orthopedics Acute unit in Illinois. Active IL license and BLS are required, with at least 2 years of RN experience in orthopedics.

The unit has 26 beds, a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio, and shifts are 12 hours day or night with self-scheduling. Telemetry is monitored, EPIC EMR is used, and local candidates are encouraged to apply.

Competenze

Mansioni

Acute care Orthopedics unit with 26 beds.
Patient population includes joint replacements, trauma, spine surgery, fractures, and medical overflow cases like GI bleed, UTI, and pneumonia.
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6.
Charge nurse staffed each shift with reduced or no patient assignment when possible.
Nurse aides/patient care techs on unit typically carry 7-13 patients.
Some telemetry patients monitored via Phillips monitors with monitor techs reading strips.
CPAP/BiPap used at night and nasal cannula; no ventilators.
12-hour day shifts (7a-730p) and night shifts (7p-730a) with self-scheduling.
Every other weekend work; Nights Fri/Sat, Days Sat/Sun.
Every other holiday required (Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc.).
No call or standby; floating to other units except OB/OR/ED.
Uses EPIC EMR.
Unit orientation provided; color scrubs allowed; closed toe shoes; no hoodies or artificial nails.
Negative drug screen required per OSF policy.
COVID vaccination not required.
