Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics assignment in Bismarck, ND. Active RN license (ND or Compact) and BLS are required, with 1 year of experience minimum (2+ preferred). Orthopedic or surgical patients experience is a plus.

Shifts are 12 hours with day/night rotation; no on-call; every other weekend/holiday required. Join a Level 2 Trauma hospital's 22-bed unit, using EPIC, with 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratios, and a focus on patient education and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2+ years preferred
• Medical surgical or orthopedic experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Acute care Orthopedic/Joint Replacement unit within a Level 2 Trauma hospital
• 22-bed unit with 4:1 or 5:1 nurse to patient ratios
• Cares for orthopedic, trauma, and general medical surgical patients
• Advanced Certified Total Joint Replacement Center with specific quality metrics and standards
• Uses EPIC charting system
• 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• No on-call requirements
• Never works alone
• Floating to other med-surg units as needed
• Administer medications, assess and monitor patients, prep for surgical procedures, and administer blood products
• Provide patient education and collaborate with CNAs to deliver comprehensive care
• Team-based unit culture with strong peer support
• Unit orientation of 6-12 hours provided
• Navy blue scrubs required, with optional navy jacket
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates with permanent addresses within 80 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous Sanford Health employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
