Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg-Oncology RN for a 13-week contract requiring MS/Tele experience and BLS certification. The role sits in a 5N Oncology unit with a 3x12 day schedule and 1:4-6 RN to patient ratio, located on an acute care hospital campus near Salem.

The position involves Epic charting, floating within scope, and potential evening or weekend coverage with mandatory training. Local candidates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required; Oregon licensure accepted at submission.
• Current BLS certification through AHA.
• Minimum 1 year MS/Tele experience in the last 3 years.
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Experience with O2 protocol and non-invasive airway management.
• Experience with peripheral line care/management.
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE.
• Experience with rapid response team activation.
• Computerized documentation experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• 5N Oncology unit, a 30-bed medical surgical oncology unit on the seventh floor of Building A.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930.
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6.
• CNA to patient ratio of 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights.
• Epic charting system used, experience required.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required within scope, with priority to West Valley Hospital, ~15 minutes away.
• Block scheduling not accommodated.
• Care for medical surgical oncology patients across cancer stages, including end-of-life care.
• Obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire.
• Work with Salem Health Cancer Institute and Palliative Care team for holistic care.
• Short term acute care hospital with Magnet designation, teaching status, Level II Trauma Center.
• Royal blue scrub color required.
• Local candidates accepted; first-time travelers accepted.
• RTO requests >2 weeks require approval and must be finalized at consideration.
• Former employees not eligible for 6 months post-termination.
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start and annually thereafter.
