Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position in Missouri, requiring 2+ years of oncology nursing experience and a MO or compact RN license.

The role includes a patient ratio of 1:6, night shifts 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15), and responsibilities in chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and oncologic emergencies within a teaching hospital setting. Epic charting system experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit of a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:6

• Epic charting system experience required
• Provide direct care to oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
• Coordinate care involving psychosocial support, advanced directives, and hospice care as needed
• Monitor for and respond to oncologic emergencies and abnormal lab values
• Travel experience not required, consideration dependent on relevant clinical background

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring 2+ years of oncology nursing experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, infusions, and central/PICC line care
• Experience managing oncologic emergencies including sepsis, anaphylaxis, and hemorrhage
• Experience administering chemotherapy and handling related body fluids
• Knowledge of pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Skilled in wound care, chest tube management, and isolation/neutropenic precautions
