American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for an infusion center role requiring 2+ years of oncology/infusion experience and an active MD or Compact RN license.

Day shift, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, with travel between assignments and a patient load of 1:6–7. Housing and licensure support available for travelers, with strong benefits.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for an infusion center role requiring 2+ years of oncology/infusion experience and an active MD or Compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior oncology/infusion experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy via IV push and oral routes
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, hemorrhage, and sepsis
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer types (e.g., breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia/blood dyscrasias)
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oncology infusion center setting administering chemotherapy, electrolytes, and blood products
• Connected to an oncology urgent care for add-on patients or provider assessments
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within specialty and acuity, with travelers prioritized to float first
• Epic charting system used
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications to oncology patients
• Monitor for and manage oncologic emergencies and treatment side effects
• Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
• Apply neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols as needed
• First-time travelers accepted with strong oncology/infusion experience
• Travel experience required for consideration
• Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility unless local acceptance is specifically noted
• Returning staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a travelers
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system after completing an assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per request, with additional conditions if requesting more than 4 consecutive days
• One major holiday off during the winter season is typically allowed
