Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg-Neuro RN for a night shift assignment in a community hospital setting. Requires TN or compact RN license, BLS, NIHSS preferred, and 1 year of RN experience with Med/Surg/Tele background.

Responsibilities include 1:7 patient ratios, 18:30–07:00 shifts (3x12 or 4x12), and floating to other units. Epic charting experience preferred; Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA certification only accepted)
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg/Tele experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, respiratory support/PPE

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg-Neuro unit in a community hospital setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 18:30 to 07:00
• 36/36, 36/48, and 48/48 schedule options available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units required
• Epic charting system preferred
• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg-Neuro specialty alongside participation in nursing student clinical education support
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online modules; includes 16 hours of nonbillable orientation
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts allowed
• Drug testing must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to repeat if needed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty in the event of a census decrease
