Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care unit in Seward, AK. Active AK RN license and travel nursing experience are required, with BLS certification and at least 1 year of RN experience.

Expect 4x12 shifts (days or nights) and a 1:20 patient ratio, with possible floating to sister facilities within scope. LSAT orientation requires Alaska Food Worker Certification; accommodations, per diems, and licensure reimbursements are included as part of a comprehensive traveler

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• LTC experience required
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, and peripheral line care
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation

Responsibilities

• Long Term Care facility setting with 40 staffed beds
• Day (7:00-19:30) or Night (19:00-7:30) 4x12 shifts, with no rotation between day and night
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• Floating within scope to sister facilities may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• ECS charting system used
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted upfront
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Facility provides shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at the start and end of the contract, plus a local shuttle in Seward
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required
