Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Long Term Care travel assignment in Seward, Alaska. The role requires an active AK RN license, BLS, and LTC experience, with prior travel nursing preferred.

The position features a 40-bed LTC facility, 1:20 patient ratios, 4x12 shifts (nights or days), 13 or 26-week assignments, ECS charting, and scope-based floating to sister facilities. On-site shuttle service is provided.

Qualifications

• Active AK RN license required in hand at time of submission.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• LTC experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Long Term Care unit in a 40-bed long term care facility.
• 1:20 patient ratio.
• 4x12 night (19:00-7:30) or day (7:00-19:30) shift schedule, with no rotation between shifts.
• 13 or 26 week assignment length available at traveler's choice.
• Uses ECS charting system.
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities.
• No on-call requirements.
• No block scheduling accommodations.
• Facility arranges shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at the start and end of the contract, plus local shuttle service in Seward.
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, and local candidates are not accepted.
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted upfront with the application.
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year\'s).
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.

• Skills required: respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE
• Charge nurse and LTAC experience preferred
• Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee)
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
