Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Medical/Surgical RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Alaska. Active AK RN license, 1 year of Med/Surg experience, and EPIC charting experience are required to start.

This role features a 3x12 schedule with day/evening/night shifts, and may require floating within the health system. Travel experience is encouraged; housing, licensure and travel reimbursements are included. Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted.

Qualifications

• AK RN license required
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care experience
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
• Two professional references from past 2 years
• SSN and date of birth required
• DUI exclusion

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surgical and Telemetry patients
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:5
• 3x12 shifts with day/evening/night variation
• Floating within health system as needed
• First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience preferred
• No local candidates within 60 miles accepted
• RTO up to 3 days for auto-offer positions; some holiday RTO possible
• Clinical procedures: blood products, PICC line management, continuous bladder irrigation
• Start date may be delayed if AK license pending (up to 8 weeks)

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring an active AK RN license, 1 year of Med/Surg experience, and EPIC experience.

Requirements

• Active or pending AK RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience preferred
• 1 year of EPIC charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
• Two professional references from the past 2 years, with at least one from a supervisor
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 3x12 shifts that may vary between day, evening, and night depending on unit need
• Floating required as needed within the health system
• Provide direct patient care to a Medical Surgical and Telemetry patient population
• Skills such as blood product administration, PICC line management, and continuous bladder irrigation are preferred
• Experience with CVA, renal failure, and IV insulin protocols is preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Previous travel experience is preferred but not required
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Up to 3 RTO days may be approved for auto-offer positions, with some holiday RTO possible depending on unit needs
• No additional RTO will be approved after contract signing
• Candidates without an active AK license may experience a start date delay of up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
