Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hospice/Palliative Care position in the Arlington, VA area. Candidate must hold a VA state or compact RN license and BLS certification, with at least 2 years of hospice experience. The role involves in-home care across an Arlington territory and a typical 5x8 schedule.

Caseload is about 5–7 patients per day; mileage is reimbursed and scrubs are acceptable. First-time travelers are not accepted, and no RTO during orientation.

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA state or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Pending licenses not accepted
• THC drug screening required; medical marijuana cards may be accepted based on state laws

Responsibilities

• Hospice care setting serving geriatric patients
• Provides in-home hospice care across an Arlington, VA territory
• Caseload of approximately 5-7 patients per day
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Netsmart charting system
• Mileage reimbursed at $0.58 per mile
• Provide hospice and palliative care to geriatric patients in a home care setting
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable attire
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks or during orientation
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• 16 hours of billable orientation modules completed virtually over two days
