Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN for a night shift in Knoxville, TN. The role requires 2+ years of acute care hospital experience and Cerner EMR proficiency. Active TN or compact RN license in hand and BLS are required.

You will float to multiple units, with 3x12-hour shifts, no on-call, and a generous benefits package including insurance, housing allowance, and licensure reimbursement. Travel and travel pairing options available.

Qualifications

• Active unencumbered TN or compact RN license in hand.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting required.
• Prior Cerner EMR experience required.
• Two references required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care float position, assigned to units by nursing supervisor based on staffing needs.
• May float to Medical, Surgery/GI, Trauma, Observation, Oncology, Nephrology, Ortho/Joint Replacement, Neuro, Vascular, Pulmonary, Cardiac, and Cardiac Surgery units.
• Typical patient ratio of 1:6, varying according to need.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45pm-7:15am with a 30-minute lunch break.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities
• Not open to block scheduling
• Float pool role covering multiple specialty units across the facility
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous travelers with this facility are eligible to return
• Travel pairs allowed
