Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Cardiac unit at a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital in Fargo, ND. Requires 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and active ND or Compact RN license.

The role includes 12-hour shifts, day/night rotation, and every other weekend/holiday, with float to other Sanford centers in Fargo. Epic EMR experience is required; cardiac experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active ND or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• NIHSS certification required or willingness to obtain prior to start.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required.
• Experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds) required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Cardiac experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• 32-bed Med/Surg Cardiac unit (6CD) within a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital.
• Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1 on day shift and 5-6:1 on night shift.
• 12-hour shifts with day/night rotation based on unit needs.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• Uses Epic EMR, Omnicell, and Alaris IV pumps.
• Float required to any Med/Surg unit across 3 Sanford Medical Centers in Fargo.
• Self-scheduling, shifts may be adjusted to balance unit staffing needs.
• Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, nursing tasks, and medication administration.
• Must badge in and out at the facility.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Cannot accept candidates living within 60 miles of the facility.
• Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility qualify for a reduced local travel rate.
• Previous Sanford Health employees must disclose prior employment and have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration.
• Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.
