Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a day-shift hospital assignment in Tennessee. Candidates should have 2+ years of recent Med/Surg experience and a Level I or II trauma background, with an active RN license and TN or compact licensure.

The role features a 1:7 patient load on a telemetry-capable unit, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), and on-call/weekend coverage. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, housing allowance, and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required, in compliance with NLC guidelines
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience
• 3+ years preferred
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience
• ADN accepted for this position
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Vaccination status must be disclosed for consideration

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit in a large hospital setting
• Team nursing model with a 1:7 patient ratio, supported by PCTs and LPNs
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered upon discussion during interview
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model on a telemetry-capable Med/Surg unit
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront, as RTO requests will not be accepted after an offer is made
