Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment in Missouri. Requires 2 years of Med/Surg experience and MO or compact RN license, with BLS and ACLS by deadline. You will float to related units, work 3x12 shifts, and handle patient loads of 1:5–6.

Open to first-time travelers; location requires residence outside a 75‑mile radius. Housing and travel reimbursements are provided; benefits include insurance, 401(k), and per diem options.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required by compliance deadline
• 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Chemotherapy experience preferred
• Feeding tube care and management experience
• Non-invasive airway management experience
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care experience
• Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 110 staffed beds
• General medical and surgical patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to Progress West and other units as needed within scope
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide direct patient care on a general medical-surgical unit
• Navy scrub color required
• Initial orientation partially scheduled on weekdays due to limited weekend class availability
• Free parking available onsite
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Pending license accepted at time of submission
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO during first week
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work up to an 18-month tenure, followed by a 3-month break in service

• ACLS certification required by compliance deadline for Barnes-Jewish Hospital location


• 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required

• Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy preferred
