Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse House Supervisor/Bed Placement Coordinator for a night shift role at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least two years of house supervisor or transfer center experience.
Details
- Functions as a House Supervisor/Bed Placement RN Coordinator in the Admit/Transfer Center
- Night shift, 4x10 hour schedule from 20:00 to 06:30
- Flexible shift lengths of 10 or 12 hours may be required
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating between units within the facility, though floating between sister facilities in the area may be required
- Uses Epic EMR
- Setting is a Short Term Acute Care Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center that also serves as a teaching hospital with 629 staffed beds
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a house supervisor or in a transfer center role required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skills needed include emergency care, crisis intervention/management, emergency preparedness, and facility/bed diversion
- Clinical practice knowledge across ED, ICU, MS/Tele, NICU, Pediatrics, PICU, and Surgical Services (Pediatrics and PICU experience preferred; Surgical Services preferred)
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidates with Nursys or background check hits will not be accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include bed management, coordinating new admissions, managing post-procedure and post-surgical patient placement, and facilitating transfers to higher levels of care
- Follows organizational escalation processes for the facility
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as requests made after submission or offer may not be granted
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Scrub color for RNs is not restricted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
