Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to provide interim leadership for regional laboratory operations at a community hospital campus. Must hold ASCP MLS/MT certification and have supervisory experience; travel assignments are required.

This role supports day-to-day lab operations, oversees staffing, quality initiatives, and accreditation readiness, and works on the bench as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be ASCP MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) certified.
• 2+ years experience as a laboratory generalist.
• 1+ year leadership experience as supervisor/lead/manager.
• Prior travel and community hospital experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supports day-to-day operations for laboratory services at a community hospital campus.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Provides interim leadership during a period of transition for laboratory leadership.
• Oversees staffing, quality initiatives, competency management, and accreditation readiness.
• Works on the bench as operational needs require.
• Uses Epic Beaker as the laboratory information system.
• Serves as a resource for frontline caregivers and laboratory leaders.
• Supports regulatory compliance and survey readiness activities.
• Requires holiday coverage, with one major holiday off and work required on the other two.
• Must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered.
• Experience with chemistry and hematology testing preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a laboratory generalist
• Minimum 1 year of laboratory leadership experience as a supervisor, lead, coordinator, or manager
• BLS certification preferred
• Epic Beaker experience strongly preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Community hospital experience required
