Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift in California. Requires CA RN license, minimum 3 years ICU experience, and Epic proficiency. Travel nursing experience and a BI-/A-line management skillset are essential.

Responsibilities include direct care for ICU patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of complex IV drips. Two supervisor references are required to apply.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of application
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, CPI and NIHSS certifications
• Epic EMR experience noted in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Minimum one year of acute care experience
• Specialty unit experience in past two years
• Two supervisor references required

Responsibilities

• Work in ICU/CCU unit of a hospital setting
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule 19:00-07:30, 3x12 hours, Sunday–Saturday rotation
• Floating required and weekend coverage
• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU/CCU patients with hemodynamic monitoring
• Manage complex IV and vasoactive drug infusions
• Local candidates may be paid at traveler rates
• Previous employees must be separated for at least one year to return as traveler
• Interview may be conducted prior to placement

• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI (Blue Card from Crisis Prevention Institute, in hand), and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Minimum one year of acute care experience required
• Specialty unit experience must include at least one year full-time equivalent experience within the past two years
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Two supervisor references required

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU/CCU unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30), Sunday through Saturday rotation
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required
• Provide direct patient care to critically ill ICU/CCU patients, including hemodynamic monitoring and management of complex medication drips
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for a minimum of one year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Manager may or may not conduct an interview prior to placement
