Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for an LTAC ICU position requiring ACLS, BLS, and a compact or LA RN license in hand.

This LTAC role features a 3x12 schedule (6:45 AM–7:15 PM) with a patient load of 1:5/6 and opportunities to perform TPN, wound care, drains, foley care, and narcotic administration in a specialized ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand required upon consideration.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• LTAC experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with critical care meds including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation, vasopressors, and insulin drip titration.
• Respiratory care skills including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, chest tube care, and tracheostomy management.
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV management.
• Renal care skills including AV-fistula care and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and 12-lead EKG acquisition.
• Neurological assessment skills including stroke scale and CVA/TBI care.

Responsibilities

• LTAC ICU unit setting.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM).
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6.
• Perform specialized procedures including TPN administration, wound care, drain management, foley care, and narcotic administration.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Block scheduling possible; no call-in requirements.
• Provide comprehensive ICU-level care for LTAC patients with complex medical needs.
• May be assigned to Emergency Team by unit manager.
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
• Orientation held 5 days a week.
• Updated NURSYS report within 4 weeks of submission.
• First-time travelers welcome; prior staff must be separated for a year to return as traveler.
• RTO must be disclosed and discussed in interview to avoid rescindment.
• Must reside more than 65 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted.

• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references (not Charge RN) required to obtain clearance to start, though not required at time of consideration
• Updated NURSYS report (within 4 weeks of submission) required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescindment
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
